What is Intimacy?

Intimacy is about closeness, connection, understanding, and warmth.  It involves these elements and more:

  • Closeness to Self: Deep self-awareness and the ability to connect with your own emotions, thoughts, and desires. It’s cultivating self-love, self-trust, and honoring your personal boundaries.

  • Connection with Others: Building meaningful relationships based on trust, vulnerability, and mutual respect. It involves sharing your true self and being present with others.

  • Emotional Intimacy: The experience of sharing feelings and emotions with another person in a safe, trusting space. It’s about being seen, heard, and accepted for who you are.

  • Spiritual Intimacy: A deeper connection with the divine, nature, or the universe that fosters a sense of belonging and shared purpose. This can be experienced individually or in relationships.

  • Physical Intimacy: Touch, closeness, and physical connection that can range from platonic to romantic, and often involves consensual touch, affection, or sexual connection.

Intimacy weaves together emotional, spiritual, and physical aspects, deepening our relationship with ourselves and with those around us.

Intimacy

Getting close emotionally or physically with another human being is a vulnerable and potentially scary thing. But if we can be courageous, show and share our whole selves, we can deeply connect with others, find meaningful connection(s), and thrive.

Relationships

Let’s start with the relationship to yourself, your body image, and any internalized stigma about sex. Then and only then can we bring our whole selves to relationships with others. If we can positively relate to ourselves and others without pain, but with love, trust, and authenticity we can open the door to the relationships we dream of.

Sex

What defines physical intimacy and sex? What sensations and play make you feel supercharged with sexual energy? What turns you on? What are your boundaries? We’ll talk about it all and more. You deserve a beautiful experience of feeling whole, wanted, and satisfied!
